KEY PLANNING MILESTONES

2000 & 2002

Discussions between landowners begin in the year 2000, with a formal agreement in place in 2002.

2002 to 2017

Ongoing Planning Process Creating the Masterplan. In 2012 St Andrews and East Fife Local Plan were approved which included St Andrews West.

2017

Planning application for link road submitted.

The planning application for a new roundabout on the A91 to the west of the St Andrews was submitted on the 31st of October 2017 by the St Andrews West LLP. It also includes a road with pedestrian and cycle paths through the North Haugh. This roundabout and road will provide access to Langlands, the site earmarked for the new school and will also be part of a link road.

2018

Planning permission granted for A91 roundabout and phase 1 link road.

 

2018

Planning application submitted for homes, secondary school, business employment and retail.

The application for planning permission in principle for St Andrews West was been submitted to Fife Council. The proposals include around 900 new homes, of which around 270 will be classed as affordable homes; University uses; business and employment land; local retail; a care home; hotel; green network; and, a link road. In addition, the planning proposals include land for the new Madras College.

2018

Planning Permission Granted for the A91 Roundabout and Phase 1 of The Link Road.

2019

Planning Permission in Principle Approved.

The Planning Application for St Andrews West has been approved by Fife Council at committee subject to a legal agreement for up to 900 new homes along with business and employment land.

2019

Construction begins on the New Madras College.

2021

Planning first phase of residential and central quadrant plus a site for sale for second care home.

2021

Madras College progresses for completion this summer and work continues to provide services and Infrastructure in advance of future development.
