Scottish design awards

The development team at St Andrews West have been enjoying a successful awards season, with both Headon and S1 Developments celebrating recent wins.

Headon received the award for ‘Best Small Development’ at the annual Homes For Scotland Awards, for their development at 22 Lade Braes, St Andrews. The judges report recognised the “the passionate pursuit of quality” across the apartments, and noted the placemaking, green credentials and customer satisfaction as integral in their decision. The development is also shortlisted in the Residential category at the Scottish Design Awards, with winners announced in June 2023.

Celebrating continued success

S1 Developments were doubly celebrating at the Scottish Home Awards where they picked up the award for ‘Housebuilder of the Year (less than 100 units)’ alongside the ‘House of the Year’ award for the Townhouses at The Ropeworks in Leith. The judging panel praised their commitment to premier development at attainable prices and impressive staff retention. This follows on from their win earlier in the year at the Scottish Property Awards for Student Accommodation of the Year, recognising their project at St Joseph’s House, Edinburgh.

Headon S1 St Andrews West are currently delivering Phase 1 of the development. Joe Headon from HeadonS1 said he was delighted with the success achieved by both Headon and S1 on their respective developments. The collective talents within both Headon and S1, together with the wider development team are focussed on creating a truly exemplar development at St Andrews West and hopefully more awards will follow.

In addition, the wider masterplan for St Andrews West has been nominated in the prestigious Scottish Design Awards. The awards seek to recognise “class-leading work, best practice, sustainability and innovation in all its forms” which St Andrews West has been shortlisted for.
